(Update Note: As of February 21, 2019, various members of the 7d family have taken over maintaining this wonderful sheet Anchor created.)

The purpose of this guide is to make it so you don’t waste very expensive resources, gems, time and most importantly money. Had I known this guide existed I would have been able to make better decisions with heroes. While my story isn’t as bad as other horror stories I have heard, I think it is a long overdue assessment of which heroes to level.

By applying this grading scale you’ll be able to know within a quick glance and answer the question “What hero should I level up next?” by yourself. Some you will see some 4*’s are easily obtained and used at the top levels. This is not just a mathematical algorithm of what you “should” do based on stats. It was created by some of the best players of Empires and Puzzles who have personally used these heroes to stay atop the leaderboard.

For the sake of catering towards top level players, this is going to be grading only 5* and 4* heroes. Another guide could be made for 3* heroes given the fact that the beginner event features only 3* heroes.  As Alliance Wars approaches, there will probably be modifications done in the future to keep everything updated. A separate section might be added to accommodate this as new information comes to light and strategies are made.

I am an advocate of keeping 4* and 5* heroes, Unless they are awful 4* heroes (ill outline those for you with D grades). Reason being is that Empires and Puzzles is constantly working towards making improvements and making heroes better or scaled back. There’s been times that I have seen heroes get massive buffs and playable after I have just got rid of them.

Just for the sake of this it is worth it to keep just about all heroes that are 4*s or 5*s. With Alliance Wars on the horizon, these heroes are becoming more important given the fact that you can only use one hero per match (currently)

I would build your heroes to fit all phases of the game. Some people may be fine with leveling a hero because they make an incredible tank, but might not be the best titan hitter. For me, finding the most diversified heroes is the most beneficial decision that you can make.

I could not have made this without the help of ScndStar (Who organized and built the whole spreadsheet),  Zero, Arien, and Borasaurous  (Provided much needed content for specific heroes) and all the input of the Seven Days community.

You are free to use this guide and reference it on any site, but would appreciate it if you referenced it from our original location at http://7ddgaming.com/2018/01/18/anchors-complete-guide-to-hero-grades/

And give us the credit for making it.

I hope this helps everyone out

I might as well keep to the Titan scoring system to rate these heroes. (A+ through D)

A+ -Best in it’s class. This one hit’s the mark perfectly for that section

A -Close to A+ but not quite, extremely good. Heavily seen and used

B -Solid and definitely consider leveling and using for situations.

C -average usability. Not the greatest but there are other better heroes

D -Not usable, I would not expect big things in this category.

Titan Team

Stamina-How likely your hero is to stay alive (defense + Health + hero buff/debuff)

Hero Power Passive -How relevant the hero power is to contributing  passive damage/heals  (buffs, debuffs, heals)

Hero Power Damage-Actual damage done to the Titan with hero power

Tile Damage-attack damage inflicted from tiles (attack power)

Versatility -How versatile your hero is to be used on all titans

Overall Score

Offensive Raids

Practicality-How likely your offensive power is to be going off (very fast, fast, average, etc)

Hero Power Effectiveness- game changing hero power, if power goes off you have the potential to win

Stamina-How likely your hero is to stay alive (defense + Health + hero buff/debuff)

Versatility-How versatile your hero is to be used on all raids

Overall Score

Defensive Raids

This is a great guide, write up and summary! Thank you

    Couple of questions:
    – how is Melendor’s tile damage better than both Lil John and SkittleSkull when Melendor’s attack rating is lower than LJ’s and SS’s?
    – Would a 4* A actually be better or worse than a 5* B? Realizing that is a tough question, just posing it to the experts!

    Thanks again,

Hi, thank you for this guide, very useful!

Instead of making an HTML version, could you publish the spreadsheet so that one can download it in any format?

For that, you’ll need to copy the URL that is in the address bar when you are editing the document. That’s the one that the sharing settings work on.

@anchor, this guide is very helpful. I don’t take it literally as I think the grading is more based on what stage of the game or (cup lvl) you’re at. For example boril and cyprian would be much higher grades along with chao for lower lvl but I can see where their use would be outdated at higher levels.

One request is to freeze the name and top header row (different stats) even for google sheets, this is possible so that the guide is easier to view.

    Thanks again,

    l2ider… ride on

In the defense grade, why is Sabina grade is the exact match of Rigard instead of Melendor? Rigard have different skill and stat proportion while Melendor have the same skill and almost the same stat with Sabina.
